The brandt foundation makes two grants to ag-related not-for-profit foundations

Springfield, Illinois (10 September 2018) – The BRANDT Foundation awarded two grants to charitable organizations at its regularly-scheduled July meeting, continuing its effort of doing well by doing good.

The July 2018 grantees, both 501(c)3 organizations in good standing for the past three years, boast close ties to the local California and national Ag communities. Both organizations are focused on Ag education:

Nutrients for Life Foundation. The BRANDT Foundation grant will help the NFL organization create a digital poster for its plant and soil-science curriculum. The digital poster will enhance learning for high school level students.

Center for Land-Based Learning. The BRANDT Foundation grant will go to the California Center’s FARMS leadership program. FARMS provides hands-on experiences at working farms, Ag-businesses and universities to help students understand California agriculture and resource management.

In addition to these two grants, the Board of The BRANDT Foundation set aside some funds to create a campaign for the local food banks this fall. The concept behind the food bank campaign will be to raise money for Illinois, California and Florida’s food banks through a competitive fundraiser.

“I’m proud of the work we are doing through The BRANDT Foundation,” said Rick Brandt, President & CEO of BRANDT. “We are able to give back to the industry that we love.”

All the grants are connected to the local communities where BRANDT does business. The mission of The BRANDT Foundation is “to provide meaningful assistance and support to the communities, farms and families where BRANDT has facilities.”

The BRANDT Foundation is a private foundation, funded through donations from BRANDT Consolidated, Inc. and BRANDT employees.
